“Dip” is a geologically inspired piece. I am fascinated with the idea the idea that a vast amount of creation is concealed from our sight. When I look at a landscape, I see not only it’s obvious natural beauty. I also visualise the layers of rock and how they were formed and altered to underpin what is visible on the surface.
This artwork has a generally linear composition which references the layers of sediments. A sense of structure is lent to the piece by a strong 3-dimensional form running across the upper quarter.
Framed artwork measures 530 x 680mm
