A Place to Rest
A Place to Rest
60 × 45 cm, oil and acrylic on canvas
Imagining hidden geological landscapes allows me to make sense of the sometimes loud and chaotic world within. By referencing forms and unseen forces—exposing them as though they've suddenly emerged from deep within the earth—I aim to connect the internal with the eternal. Much like the geological layers of the earth, which carry the imprints of time, pressure, and cosmic forces, my work delves into the unseen dimensions of the human spirit. The process becomes a kind of excavation of the soul, a way to reveal what is often buried deep within, and to make room for spiritual growth, renewal, and understanding.
A Place to Rest speaks of a deep inner peace that I am able to find when I let go of the need to be in control, embracing the mystery of a spiritual side of myself. Somehow I find that I am interconnected with you, with the natural world and with a bigger, deeper mystery that some people call God. When I allow “light” into the recesses of my thoughts and inner world, I can see the things that need attention in order to let them go. It’s cathartic!
